Micah Ofstedahl: Uninvisible

Micah Ofstedahl is an acrylic scientific, surreal, realist painter from Austin, Minnesota. His art showcases the hidden beauty and complexity of the world we find ourselves immersed in, from microscopic views to the mysteries of the universe. Through a blend of scientific subject matter, surreal elements, and altered realism landscapes, Micah’s work invokes an awareness of the unseen and inspires curiosity.

“This body of work is my attempt to represent the invisible and the unknown. Since the conceptual aspect of each painting itself is often based on mystery, it is essentially inevitable that they are left open to interpretation, including for me. They might inspire the viewer to look at the world a little differently or imply that there is more out there than what we can observe with our amazing, but limited senses and filters. There continues to be so much to discover about ourselves and the universe, and even much of what we do know is still unobservable or shrouded in mystery. Some might have a more spiritual interpretation, or think of more abstract concepts like pathways of our existence through space and time, the "butterfly effect", other dimensions, or simply the feeling you get when you are soaking in a beautiful landscape or sunset.” - Micah Ofstedahl
